The discharge selectivity in an atmospheric pressure helium–argon dielectric barrier discharge

In this paper, an atmospheric pressure polyethylene terephthalate dielectric barrier discharge is produced in a helium–argon mixture. The influences of the electrode voltage on mode are experimentally investigated. results show that, at fixed argon content 50%, transits from local uniform, through isolated pattern, to whole uniform with increase voltage. Both peak value current pulse and spectra (696.54, 763.13, 772.09, 811.17, 911.81 nm) intensities captured clarify characteristics transition. different characteristic regions obtained by varying content. addition, influence above-mentioned also researched. enhance 696.54, 772.09 nm but weaken 811.17 when operates mode. physical reasons for these discussed.
